iSHIMR 2002 first call for papers

The Seventh International Symposium for Health Information Management Research (iSHIMR 2002), Sheffield, UK, 26–28 June, 2002

The Call for papers is available at: www.shef.ac.uk/~is/research/chimr/shimr/index.htm

iSHIMR2002 is a response to the challenge of utilising the enormous potential of modern information technology in information systems, which benefit healthcare professionals, managers, planners, patients and the public. The multi-disciplinary field of healthcare is a massive generator and user of information. We welcome paper submissions and delegates from the international healthcare community, particularly those with teaching/research responsibilities in health information management, with clinical responsibilities, and those involved in provision of information services.

Papers may be submitted reporting on research in any area of health information management. Areas include, but are not restricted to, Information Management issues of:

  • ehealth records, personal health systems;
  • security, confidentiality and protection of healthcare information;
  • ehealth logistics;
  • local implementation strategies — experience, issues and challenges;
  • HCI issues of healthcare applications. User acceptance of healthcare telematics;
  • home monitoring and care systems. Telesystems and applications for support of care;
  • information needs of patients, carers and the public;
  • user-friendly and certified information services for citizens and patients;
  • evidence-based health and social care;
  • integrated health information services, standards and infrastructure;
  • health/medical informatics training and education; and
  • health service workflow management and re-engineering.

Email submissions are much preferred, and should be sent to ishimr2002@shef.ac.uk

They should arrive not later than 15 February 2002. Electronic submissions should be in the form of Word documents, which conform to the www.shef.ac.uk/uni/projects/hij/ Health Informatics Journal style guide.

Further details are available from the website:
