eHealth 2003 — high-level ministerial conference and exhibition

22–3 May, 2003, Charlemagne Bldg, Brussels

The European Commission, DG Information Society, in collaboration with Directorate General Health and Consumer Protection and during the Greek Presidency, is organising eHealth 2003.

Health Organisations that have implemented ehealth solutions (not in research/pilot phase) are invited to apply for place at the exhibition and for the award for the best exhibition at www.e-europeawards.com

Summary
WHAT: Exhibition of real-life ehealth solutions that have proven some benefits. Interested exhibitors
are invited to apply (online applications available at www.e-europeawards.com
). Deadline 15 February, 2003. The final set of demonstrations will be selected by experts at the end of February. The best exhibitor will be awarded the eEurope award by E Liikanen. Opening and closing sessions with selected Ministers, MEPs, Commissioners Liikanen and Byrne, representatives of Industry and Experts — specific sessions where a selected demonstrators, experts, industry and authority will present their cases.

WHEN: May 22–23, 2003, Charlemagne, Brussels

WHO: Ministers of telecom, Health ( including regional) from EU and candidate countries, authorities, industry reps, experts, exhibitors, all by invitations only (up to 500 participants).

WHY: to reinforce the implementation and deployment of ehealth systems by European health service providers (along the eEurope initiative) — to provide Health Ministers and the health public sector in
general with validated information regarding the benefits of ehealth systems and to stimulate the ehealth market.
