The International Joint Meeting EuroMISE 2004 in
Prague, Czech Republic, is composed of the IMIA working conference and three
symposia running in parallel. The IMIA conference and three symposia will be
held in the city centre and located in the House of Physicians, hotel
Novotel and in the premises of Charles University and General University
Hospital in Prague.
The International Joint Meeting EuroMISE 2004 is held
under the partronage of Ivan Wilhelm, Rector of the Charles University in
Prague and Helena Illnerova, President of the Academy of Sciences of the
Czech Republic.
The International Joint Meeting EuroMISE 2004 is held
in the frame of the EuroMISE. The European Centre for Medical Informatics,
Statistics and Epidemiology (EuroMISE Centre) of Charles University and
Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic was set up on 12 April, 1994 with
the support of the European Commission as the joint Teaching and Research
Centre of Charles University, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics and the
Academy of Sciences, Institute of Computer Science. Since these days the
EuroMISE Centre has been developing a broad co-operation with European
universities and research institutes and with international organizations,
eg EFMI, IMIA and Biometric Society, in the field of education and research.
Since July 2000, the EuroMISE Centre has been enlarged
as the national research centre with the support of the Czech government
into the joint workplace EuroMISE Centre — Cardio, concerned mainly in the
application of research results in cardiology. The EuroMISE Centre — Cardio
is the joint workplace of Charles University (First Faculty of Medicine and
Faculty of Science), Institute of Computer Science of the Academy of
Sciences CR, University of Economics and two hospitals (General University
Hospital in Prague and Municipal Hospital in Caslav). The local scientific
and organizing committee of the meeting is composed of scientists and
managers of the EuroMISE.
On Thursday April 15 the full day satellite workshop "RTD
Potential in Central and Eastern Europe for Building Information Society in
Healthcare" will be organized. The workshop will focus on building a
European Research Area and the expectations of Newly Associated States on
the RTD co-operation in the European Union.
On Friday, April 16, 2004, the HL7 Road Show will be
organized at the House of Physicians, Sokolska 32, Prague 2, Czech Republic
(9:00 am – 3:00 pm).
All IJM EuroMISE 2004 and Satellite Workshop delegates
may participate free of charge.
