Health Informatics:
The Role of Informatics in Health Care
A course, Health Informatics: The Role of Informatics in Health Care will
be held from the 10–23 July 2005 at the Academic Medical Center in
Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
This course is a co-production of The Academic Medical Center of the
University of Amsterdam and The Amsterdam-Maastricht Summer University (AMSU).
The course highlights the role of the doctor in controlling the impact of
informatics on the health care sector. Informatics is already having a
profound impact on health care, not least in the workplace, where
technological advances enduringly change the way health care providers and
health care managers work, make decisions and communicate.
This course will highlight topics such as: The Computerized Patient
Record, Telemedicine, Health Care Systems throughout the world, Health
information systems development, Evaluating the impact of health information
systems, Strategic Information Management in Health Care. Course leaders are
drawn among internationally well known experts in the field.
This course is aimed at advanced university students and young
specialising doctors.
