Plug-and-play data collection from bedside medical devices

From Capsule Technologie

Connectivity solution translates device data into XML or HL7 for a growing list of monitors, ventilators and infusion pumps.

Capsule Technologie has released DataCaptor 4.4 which includes automatic device detection for plug-and-play connectivity, identification and data collection from more than 220 bedside medical devices.

The new automatic device detection feature is particularly useful in situations where medical devices are frequently changed at the bedside. The functionality allows users to connect and reconnect different medical devices to the DataCaptor solution, and collect data without any reconfiguring of the software.

The automatic device detection includes a new device ID manager and support for DataCaptor device ID modules, which are small hardware connectors that can be programmed with information about medical devices using the DataCaptor device ID manager. Then, when a medical device with a programmed device ID module is connected, DataCaptor is able to identify the device and start the appropriate device interface.

Users can download a fully functioning version of the software and evaluate it for free for 30 days by visiting the website:  www.capsuletech.com
