National HIPAA summit will assess implications

20 Dec 2000. President Clinton issued the much-anticipated HIPAA healthcare
privacy regulations.
It is expected that these regulations will have a profound impact on all
of the major participants in the nations system of healthcare finance and delivery. That includes purchasers, health plans, hospitals and health
systems, and physicians and physician organizations.
Many of the country's leading healthcare associations have come together
to sponsor a major conference to assess the implications of the ground breaking regulations. The Second National HIPAA Summit will be held February 28
through March 2 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington DC.
The Summit will address matters of healthcare privacy, confidentiality,
data security and HIPAA confidentiality.
