Source Health Care Alliance Forum 
Inaugural Forum held on June
1&2 2000 in Rome, Italy
We are pleased to announce the successful
conclusion of the inaugural meeting of the Open Source Health Care Alliance (OSHCA).
The OSHCA Forum took take place on June 1st, 2000, in Rome Italy. The meeting
was co-sponsored by the Joint FAO/IAEA Program (Food and Agriculture
Organization, International Atomic Energy Agency), Minoru Development
Corporation and Sistema Information Systems.
The primary goals of the meeting were to:
- Finalize OSHCA's charter based on discussions
and drafts which have been developed on the OpenHealth

- Set goals and to determine the interests of
the members
- Have some fun and get to know each other after
orbiting in cyberspace

Information Systems Meeting
A meeting to discuss strategies for establishing an
open source laboratory information system project took place on June 2 at FAO in
Rome, Italy. The meeting was co-sponsored by the Joint FAO/IAEA Division (Food
and Agriculture Organization, International Atomic Energy Agency), Minoru
Development Corporation and Sistema Information Systems.
The primary goals of the Lab meeting were to:
- Discuss requirements and development
strategies for a modern and flexible laboratory information system
- Investigate possibilities of forming an open
source consortium for such a development
- Discuss joint fund raising strategies for the
development
