Vint Cerf's article 'The Internet is for everyone' is updated by him.  Full text

"The Internet is for everyone", Vint Cerf issues the rallying cry.

He continues: " the Internet really is for everyone. However, it will only be such if we make it so."

Easier said than done, argues Cerf, as he charts a course to achieving this noble objective.

In these turbulent days, change is all around us.  We see it everywhere, from the practice of medicine to health care provision for the masses.   There is a revolution in full swing affecting every aspect of health care.   Boundaries are being breached all the time, giant 'vertical portal' websites are dominating the Internet, pharmacy is finding its way to the online order business and the avalanche of health related information is set to explode when the USA National Institute for Health proceeds with its 'e-Biomed' project that promises to allow fast track online publishing for the biomedical scientific community.

Exciting times, indeed.  Dangerous times, too.  The gap ever widens between those who have the knowledge or access to it, and those who do not.

Vint Cerf delivers sobering thoughts and urges all of us to "make it so".
