Report from the Internet Healthcare Coalition's Annual Conference: eHealthcare Gets a Dose of Reality

Internet healthcare companies should adopt some
of the practices traditional healthcare entities use to ensure quality and
ethics, according representatives of e-health constituencies and experts in the
fields of ethics, privacy, medicine, and media who spoke at the third annual
conference of the Internet Healthcare
Coalition (IHC). The
IHC's conference, "Quality Healthcare Information on the 'Net 2000:
Establishing Trust, Ensuring Privacy, Enabling E-Commerce," was held in Las
Vegas on October 3 to 4. The event addressed privacy concerns and the ethical
challenges currently facing the Internet healthcare industry.
