Your Guide to E-Health" - New eBook Released

University of Queensland Press (UQP) announces the EBOOK release of "Your Guide to E-Health: Third Millenium Medicine on the Internet" by Professor Peter Yellowlees, available for sale through http://www.ebooks.com .

Internationally recognised expert in health information technology, Prof. Peter Yellowlees is Director of the Centre for Online Health at the University of Queensland, Australia. He is an internationally recognised expert in health information technology and is in regular demand as an international conference speaker giving more than 30 presentations world-wide each year for the last few years. He has published more than 90 scientific articles and book chapters, including many on e-health, has co-authored one book and received well over $1m in research grants. His full academic Curriculum Vitae is available at the web site for the Centre for Online Health at http://www.coh.uq.edu.au . This site, which has been driven by Professor Yellowlees, now receives heavy international traffic and is being promoted by the World Bank as one of the best health/IT sites in the world.

Professor Yellowlees is on the editorial board of the Journal of Telemedicine and Telecare, and is the Chair of the editorial board of Telehealth International. He is a regular reviewer for other journals and features in several educational videos and films, and has been the Director of Queensland Telemedicine Network, the most extensively used videoconferencing health network in the world, since its inception in 1995.

Professor Yellowlees is involved in a series of exciting and leading-edge research programs, taking healthcare services to patients in their home, and preventative health education programs to students in schools, as well as to their families. He still practises part-time clinically as a psychiatrist and is a strong philosophical believer in patients having ubiquitous access to information any time anywhere.

"Your Guide to E-Health" explains how to use the Internet to improve your health and helps people find the right information and practitioner for their needs. This book aims to give people more control over their own health decisions, and easier access to good quality health care.

This is the first eBook published by UQP, and demonstrates our commitment to electronic publishing and the Health/IT sectors.
