Digital signatures may become law
From Ananova

Electronic 'signatures' may soon be given the
same legal status as real ones in order to speed up e-commerce.
Industry body E-Centre UK has been asked by the
Cabinet Office to change old legislation that requires documents to be signed or
exchanged physically for them to be legally binding.
These laws conflict with new ones that received
Royal assent in July, giving digital signatures the same legal standing as
written ones.
