Kharkiv Advanced Training Institute for Doctors (KATID) is the oldest higher education institution of postgraduate advanced training for
doctors in Ukraine. Training and retraining for specialists of highest qualification in all
specialties. Training for the highly skilled experts planning to work abroad.
Courses for Doctors of Science, postgraduate courses for Candidates of Science, clinical residents special training, courses for Masters,
internship probation courses in all specialties.
Postgraduate advanced training for foreign specialists of the highest qualification. Diagnostics, consulting, treatment with up-to-date
methods.
Scientific base: medicine top priorities researches, elaboration of new diagnostic methods, treatment and prevention, wide academic, medical, scientific activity on self-financing
basis.
KATID has an about 75 year-experience of advanced training for doctors of Ukraine, NIS (former USSR republics) and other foreign
countries. KATID was founded in November, 1923. At present it is one of the greatest academic scientific medical centres in Ukraine and possesses the superior (IV) accreditation level.
During the history more than 250.000 doctors and pharmacists have been trained, retrained and improved their skills at the institute.
Teaching staff of the institute is 92 Doctors of Science, 334 Candidates of Science, 10 Academicians,
8 Honoured Science Workers of Ukraine, 4 Ukraine State Prize Winners, 2 Honoured Doctors of Ukraine.
Such outstanding scientists as Academicians and Member Correspondents of Academy of Medical Science of Ukraine, Professors
V.M. Jdanov, 0.0. Korj, V.A.Navrotskiy, M.P. Novachenko, E.A. Popov, A.A.
Shalimov, V.A. Bondarenko, Honoured Science Workers of Ukraine, Professors
V.A.Arkatov, P.V.Voloshin, S.G.Genes, Y.D.Shulga, M.I.Khvisuk, Ukraine State Prise Winners, Professors
M.M.Veligodskiy, 0.S.Pereverzev, V.A.Nikitin worked earlier and are continuing their activity at present at the institute. They played great role in organisation, formation and improvement of
KATID. These and other scholars, made a great contribution to the development of national medical science. Their names are inseparably connected with entire branches of medicine.
During the last decade the material and technical base of the institute has been considerably improved and renewed, the most departments and auxiliary units moved to new standard premises of residence, audio- and
video classrooms were equipped as well as internal computer network with Internet communication.
Improvement and development of the entire KATID training research medical complex according to the international university medical centres standards is still in progress.
