SMS loses its Northern
European Chief By Dave

Healthcare systems
supplier SMS has parted company with one of its
most senior European managers.
Roger Wallhouse,
head of the company's Northern European
operations, left the company shortly before
Christmas. He had worked for them for over 18
years.
HIE has not yet
been able to contact Guillermo Ramas, the
President of SMS International, based in Madrid,
for a comment. However the 're-organisation' may
well be linked to the company's third quarter
results in 1998 when it announced a profits
warning to shareholders following disappointing
results in its European sphere of business.
SMS is the only
European-wide supplier of hospital-based
information systems. It has split its business in
Europe into three regional operations: Benelux
and Southern Europe ; Northern Europe; and
Central Europe . It is not yet known whether the
heads of these two other SMS operations will
survive the re-organisation.
