Virtual Center of Medical Information

The program Medical Internet was started by Open Society Institute of New York and Soros Foundation Moldova in year 1997. During first stage of implementation a center of medical information was created, which now is the base for future development of Intranet network.

We gives users (health care institutions and physicians) the possibilities of remote access to databases OVID Core Biomedical Collection, Medline, Internet access, and Internet service (email, FTP, telnet, etc.)

We are located in district of M. Malina, where the majority of health care institutions of republican level, which also serve as didactic base of medical university, are concentrated.

Our center includes an electronic lecture hall of 10 computers, which provide access to local databases and Internet. The services of electronic lecture hall are available free of charge to faculty members of Moldova State Medical and Pharmaceutical University, residents, students, and physicians.
