Orthopaedic surgeons are invited to test this simple beta software that allows the uploading of images from a personal computer to a remote server and the Web

The project is under the management of Chris Oliver Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon and Director of Medical Informatics Edinburgh Orthopaedic Trauma Unit

Chris Oliver notes: "I think the final version will force you to state your e-mail address. I could make it very sophisticated ICD-10 codes but just want to keep it simple so surgeons can share images easier. I have tried to keep it a simple as possible so it will work with IE3 and Netscape 3. I'm not sure if it will work with a Mac properly"

One advantage of the uploader system is to avoid sending large image attachments to mailing and distribution lists

Although the system is aimed at orthopaedic surgeons, it may have wider applications.
