HON introduces the 'active code'

In an attempt to tighten the use of the Health On the Net Foundation's Code (HONcode), the Geneva based organisation introduced an active graphic that registered members of the scheme can download and display on their websites.

Users can now verify whether a site is registered with HON by clicking on the HON logo.  A dead link means that the site is either not registered or has had its membership withdrawn.

This move might help in reducing the number of sites using the HONcode fraudulently.
