The Good European Health Record Project (GEHR)

• A 6 million ECU project within the European Telematics research programme, involving 21 participating organisations in 7 European countries. Led and co-coordinated by the team at CHIME
• A comprehensive multi-media data architecture for electronic healthcare records. Designed to meet clinical, technical, educational and ethico-legal requirements.
• The GEHR project has had a strong influence on the standardisation work in this field through ongoing representation on CEN (Comité Européen de Normalisation)
• The architecture object model, exchange format, terms set and access/integration tools have all been placed in the public domain
