The Aegean Health Institute (AHI) is involved in the actions of the fifth framework programme dealing with the subjects of telematics and primary health care.

The sustainable development, and the principle of subsidiarity are political gateways in which one possible consortium can enforce the subject of telematics and a 'health for all' policy.

Samos and the other islands of Greece are one of the only places where the application and importance of telematic technology for primary health care is necessary, especially for telecardiology and general teleconsultation services, home care, disease management and elderly programs.

If you know or heard of a consortium who can prepare and resolve, carry out or make a proposal for such an action on the subject of telematics in primary health care within the fifth framework programme, please inform us of your findings or contacts.
